The Job


Ensures supply of Finished Goods from Contract Manufactures to Company`s Distribution Centers/Customers: Develop an appropriate business driven back-up plan; Deliver and monitor a capacity plan; Insure timely production to planned schedules; Ensure timely input of scheduling/production data into SAP System; Ensure ancillary SAP transactions ( i.e. returns, quality notifications, etc.) performed with SAP best practice; Be familiar with the details/idiosyncrasies of the co-packer and the product/process in order to have the necessary tools for any short term focused management of performance (firefighting); Be the tactical business linkage contact for the packer; report and improve metrics on performance versus forecast.


Ensure Contract Manufacturers adhere to Company's financial controls/terms and conditions of contracts: Finished goods physical count and raw/pack materials inventories; reconcile finished goods and raw/pack inventories with SAP; ensure packer is optimizing the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process by providing accurate and timely invoice information; report and improve metrics on inventory accuracy and invoice accuracy/timeless; develop and manage packer operational budgets; fixed Asset reviews and updating of asset lists.


Ensure Contract Manufactures adhere to the Company's manufacturing standards and associated product quality: Ensure that the quality program (whether testing, inspection, etc.) is robust enough to insure statistical compliance with Company's specifications. In concert with Division Quality, develop and implement quality metrics; ensure that contract manufacturers comply with Company's vendor code of conduct.


Doing the new product responsibility. As appropriate at a given packer, take packer lead from team leader at defined transition point in the co-pack process; Lead the Company's tactical manufacturing process through launch and beyond.


The Applicant


Qualified candidate should possess a four-year college degree (BS/BA – Engineering or Business preferred); an MBA would be an asset, minimum of 5 years experience with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment (consumer products, food, or related is preferred); two years of experience in manufacturing supervision; must be a self starter (highly motivated) who can work independently or as part of a team; experience with world class manufacturing techniques (Lean, Six Sigma, Kanban, Kaizan, etc) is highly desired; strong indirect/influence leadership qualities; results driven and focused on quality; ability to travel to contract manufacturer sites in area of responsibility (up to 40% or more depending on need).
